Tonally, the Creon 2×12 delivers a broad, authoritative voice with excellent low-end support, a strong and present midrange, and smooth, controlled highs. Achillies Creon 2x12
For context, I was chasing something 2x12 size to lift an ’83 Roland JC-120 up a bit (physically and sonically) with the option down the track to pair the 2x12 with a small valve head (type still to be decided). Before disappearing too far down the rabbit hole, I came across Achilles as an option and started digging. A few brief exchanges with Labros at Achilles Amplification, some ideas thrown around for the pairing, and we were underway. It’s a custom build, so naturally I expected some lead time. In reality, it turned up quicker than I’d imagined. Straight off the truck and out of the box, the first impression was the build quality. This thing sits comfortably in the category of “will outlast me,” which is ideal given it has to live under a JC-120. This isn’t something stamped out. It’s been made. Everything lines up, everything feels deliberate. It’s the kind of gear you stop and look at for a while before you even switch anything on. Aesthetically, it lands exactly where I wanted. Black tolex, aged black/white/silver grill, clean silver piping. It sits under the Roland JC-120 like it belongs there. Not a copy, just the same language. The JC-120 is well known for being a direct line to God. Run it into an Achilles Creon 2x12, and it shifts. Now you’ve got a direct line to Andy Summers. The Vintage 30s, with the Roland’s mids pushed, give everything a centre. I won’t go too far down the path of describing shimmering chords and weighted notes than land etc, but that, and more, is happening. This isn’t a subtle upgrade. It’s one of those pieces that makes you play differently within minutes. Six-star bit of kit.

Creon 2x 12 Celestion Vintage 30 & G12H- 75 Creamback
This 2x12 combination delivers clean crisp sounds when needed and is nasty in all the right ways when you need some dirt. I have used it now for nearly 6 months with a Marshall 100 watt Vintage Modern and recently with a Marshall SV20 H mini Plexi. It delivers Marshall tones in spades. Labros is great to deal with and is happy to answer any question.

Amazing!
I can now truly appreciate the lovely sound a quality cab makes. The greenback have that lovely warm woody sound, but that greenback bite comes through also, when depending on how i play. I've never experienced this sound before. I'm seriously blown away! Also, the finish is top notch. Built like a tank. This cab will outlive the ages. This is probably the best investment i've made in all my years of playing guitar. Thank you Labros - amazing work!
