Apollo Nyx 5W
The Nyx idea was to take the Apollo C5 and provide a more feature-rich, adaptable amplifier with contemporary functionality. All hand wired with 5 watts of pure 6V6 tube tone makes this little monster is your ideal secret weapon for studio recording. Its power supply uses a 5Y3 tube rectifier and when you don’t want that tube sag and need more tightness and bottom end, it can be switched over to solid state. Its powered by a 6V6 output tube for that saturated tube overdrive when cranked and driven by a 12AX7 preamp tube. The amp has a low and high input switch to except various types of guitar pick ups or to simply lower your guitar volume. A bright switch to give the amp more life and clean sparkle. Foot switchable drive channel engages a cathode capacitor to the second stage and drives the 6V6 to sweet bluesy overdrive while you dial in with only one volume knob! A clever "organic" true bypass effects loop has been carefully thought into the circuit for your desired effects pedal.
