Product Description

Hydra 1x12 Ported Cabinet.

Punching far above its weight, the Hydra 1x12 is the smallest guitar cabinet available from Achillies. Perfect for the home studio, grab-and-go rehearsals and smaller gigs, the Hydra is equipped with a unique porting and beam blocking arrangement, specifically designed to simultaneously deliver thumping low end and smooth high end articulation, without fatiguing the ears.

Like all Achillies cabs, the Hydra is made from dovetailed void-free Russian Birch ply, with paralleled output jacks wired for 16 and 8 ohms. Select from any classic speaker setup to make the most of your smaller rig – you’ll be surprised how much rock this diminutive cab can dish out!

Please view the Custom Options page for our Tolex and Grill cloth options.

I got two of these optioned out in the same trim as the Argos I ordered at the same time. I upgraded to Creamback Alnicos for a really fair price, and I can take one or both depending on venue. The cabinet and trim work is gorgeous. Cheers Labros!!

I bought this cabinet a few months ago to host a Celestion Gold speaker that I had pulled from a another cab a while back. I always missed the speaker and wanted to be able to use it again. The build quality of the Achillies cabinet is outstanding - everything fits tightly, Tolex finish is flawless and the hardware is premium quality from the mounting screws to the recessed jack plate. It also sounds great with the Celestion. The Mesa cabinet is ported and may have a bit more bass response, but this one sounds beautiful and balanced. I really could not have asked for more.
