Achillies Ipotane 2×12 Speaker Cabinet
The Ipotane 2×12 Speaker Cabinet is a purpose-driven design created for stages and environments where controlled projection is essential. Unlike traditional forward-throw cabinets, the Ipotane features a deeply angled front baffle, subtly directing sound upward toward the player rather than outward into the room. This makes it an ideal solution for stages that rely heavily on front-of-house reinforcement, in-ear monitoring, or volume-sensitive venues where excessive guitar spill into the audience mix is undesirable.
The angled geometry allows the guitarist to hear themselves clearly without needing excessive stage volume, improving on-stage clarity while keeping the overall mix balanced and controlled. The closed-back design maintains low-end authority and punch, ensuring the cabinet still feels full and responsive under the hands, even at reduced volume levels.
Constructed entirely from Baltic birch plywood and assembled using traditional dovetailed joinery, the Ipotane is built for durability, resonance control, and long-term reliability. Side-mounted recessed steel bar handles, metal corner protection, and large bolted rubber feet make it road-ready and stable on any stage surface.
The cabinet is fitted with self-switching output jacks, allowing flexible impedance configurations without external switches, and is finished to the same high standard expected across the Achillies range.

My Number 1 Cab!
This cab was developed by Labros when I asked him if I could have a 2x12 cab that had the speakers in an angle so I could put it on the floor and get the speakers pointing to my ears instead of my knees! Labros was amazing through the whole process and the final product is definitely the best cab I have ever owned, it is my number 1 cab for studio recording and gigging. I have been at gigs where another band is using my cab and their second guitarist is using a 4x12 and the Ipotane just sounds so much better! I loved it so much that I got Labros to build me a 1x12 version to use at rehearsals and small gigs.
