The Achillies Zephyr 40 Head is your gateway to the rich, soulful tones of the American South—bold, bluesy, and built to move air. At the heart of this amp is a pair of 6L6 power tubes driving a classic AB763 circuit, delivering 40 watts of harmonically rich, touch-sensitive tone with that unmistakable Texas-style growl and shimmering clean headroom.
Plug it into a Priam 1x15” cabinet and it opens up with a flood of thick lows, articulate highs, and that sweet midrange bloom—perfect for everything from gritty shuffle to scorching solo work.
Texas Inferno Mod (SRV-Inspired Upgrades):
For those chasing pure fire, the optional Texas Inferno package pushes the Zephyr 40 even further.

Organic True Bypass Series Effects Loop. No passive components involved so your tone remains the same. Half Power output option. The switch is hidden from view beneath the chassis, in between the tubes. With this setting, the amp's power consumption is reduced by 40%. Reverb and Tremolo modification available to both channels Texas Inferno Mod: Increases the amplifiers gain into early overdrive on the Volume knob and high gain saturation when pushed to the limit. Output Transformer Upgrade: Provides richer depth response, stronger attack, and improved tone clarity. Rectifier Solid State Switch when engaged bypasses the tube rectifier and results in tighter bottom end with a more noticeable response. This mod is only available with the output transformer upgrade.
